Awesome all-season venue for your wedding!

Did you know that the Blue Ribbon Cooking School offers all inclusive wedding packages? Yes, you can sit down with one of their many professional wedding planners and choose your food, cake, flowers, linens and MORE!  they provide EVERYTHING!!!   You can use their venue on the shores of Lake Union or you can choose another venue and have them cater it. Blue Ribbon can customize your wedding package whether it is all inclusive or a la carte (catering only).

To get an idea of what Blue Ribbon Cooking School can do for you I have attached a gallery of a wedding I officiated for Matthew and Ilsa who worked with Blue Ribbon to create a beautiful wedding package.  Matthew and Ilsa wanted to get married at the Dahlia Garden at Volunteer Park.  Blue ribbon came up in the early morning (M&I wedding was at 9am) and set everything up including a beautiful arbor in front of the dahlia garden.  The ceremony proceeded beautifully, and afterwards, all the guests headed down to the Blue Ribbon venue on Lake Union for brunch.  This was one of their all-inclusive packages that couldn’t have been more special for the couple.  Ilsa and Matthew got to choose their flowers, cake, food, etc. and it was all inclusive in the BL package.  What could be easier.

I have had the pleasure of working with Blue Ribbon on several occasions and I highly recommend that you contact them to discuss your dream wedding.  They are experts at what they do and as an added bonus they are over the top friendly and helpful!

Take a hike for your wedding

Do you love the outdoors?  Do you love to hike?  Would you like to get married in front of a waterfall in the North Cascades or old growth in the Olympics?  If you are a couple who likes to do things “out of the box” like  get married on a hike with your friends and dogs, you have come to the right place!

I also love to hike and I also have a dog and it’s the perfect time of the year to get out in the wilderness for a wedding!  Whether it’s under a the canopy of a forest or on a ridge in the mountains I would love to be your officiant for your nature wedding.  I also snowshoe and cross-country ski so if it’s a wintertime snow day you have chosen for your nuptials, count me in!

Check out the Washington Trails Association for a favorite hike and give me a call to plan your  wedding day in your favorite natural setting!

Beautiful Fall Wedding at the Woodmark

Approximately seven weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Ted and Annie who wanted to get married at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland to celebrate their love and friendship.  I suppose you could say it was somewhat of a “last minute” request because there were only seven weeks to get everything planned and in place.  What transpired yesterday at their wedding was simply amazing!  Annie and Ted put together a beautiful, seamless, enjoyable day for both themselves and all their family and friends.  I was so impressed at how organized everything was and just how beautiful it all came together in seven short weeks.  The bride and groom looked stunning, the decorations were charming and all the guests were over the top with happiness for Annie and Ted.  All in all it was a huge success and a day filled with love!  Please enjoy the gallery of Ted and Annie below.

Rent a “Bathhouse” for your Wedding Venue

[nggallery id=19]

I just did a wedding at the Golden Gardens Bathhouse last night that was truly amazing.  It was amazing because this is a facility that is a blank slate except for the beach right outside the windows.  It has been remodeled so it is a very clean canvas to work with.  The couple that I married last night, however, really made an impression on me as to how much this space can be transformed.  Lisa chose purple and green for her “colors”.  The tables were beautiful with their green runners and brightly colored flowers in shades of purple and pink.  The vases were also filled with sliced limes, adding to the purple and green color scheme. The biggest feature that really transformed this space, however, was the lighting.  Lisa’s mom hired a specialty lighting company to bring in strings of lights that were hung up everywhere, creating a very intimate and romantic setting.

Check out the Golden Gardens Bathhouse for your wedding: Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall!

Find a restaurant for your reception!

Last weekend I made a dinner reservation at Ray’s Boathouse via an online booking company called Open Table . Open Table is really cool — they have hundreds of Seattle restaurants in their program — including restaurants who can do private dining for wedding receptions! Check out the link to choose a restaurant for your rehearsal dinner and/or wedding reception. Lots of great options to choose from!

Summer Weddings

[nggallery id=18]

So what’s been happening over the last month?  Well, I have performed weddings indoors and out, far and near.  One of my favorite weddings was the wedding of Chelsea and Joshua.  They are a young couple living here in Ballard that contacted me many, many months ago for their Bainbridge Island wedding.  They rented the Seabold Inn, which is an old schoolhouse built in the 1800’s with a huge yard out back.  Chelsea and Joshua chose wedding favors from Archie McPhee and a friend made their beautiful wedding cake which was decorated with fresh seasonal flowers.  The ceremony was held inside the schoolhouse and was quite charming with it’s mis-matched chairs and wooden floors.  Everything about this wedding was charming actually, but especially Chelsea and Joshua with their great big smiles!  The couple celebrated outdoors with a big picnic including lemonade and yummy food.  Tables were decorated with vintage tablecloths.

And how about Chelsea’s shoes?  Wow!  Fantastic!

Last Minute Proposal at Sculpture Park

Tyler proposing to Apryl at the start of the wedding ceremony at the Olympic Sculpture parkI recently had the pleasure of performing my first “sunrise wedding” for Tyler and Apryl.  They chose the Olympic Sculpture Park for their 5:30 a.m. nuptials.  So I set my alarm for 4:15 a.m. that morning and was up and ready to go by 5.  Unfortunately, there was cloud cover but it was still enchanting at the park that early in the morning with Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains as our background.  Due to the early hour, the park was empty except for our small group that met under the “Eagle” at the sculpture park, including parents and the couple’s young son.  But there was still a lot of excitement and anticipation in the air.  Probably the most surprising and exciting part of the ceremony was just before we began and Tyler got down on one knee and “officially” proposed to Apryl.  Everyone was surprised, especially the bride!  The photographer: Jonathan Steinberg of JMS Weddings caught this great picture just as Tyler proposed to Apryl.  So romantic!
