Find a restaurant for your reception!

Last weekend I made a dinner reservation at Ray’s Boathouse via an online booking company called Open Table . Open Table is really cool — they have hundreds of Seattle restaurants in their program — including restaurants who can do private dining for wedding receptions! Check out the link to choose a restaurant for your rehearsal dinner and/or wedding reception. Lots of great options to choose from!

Summer Weddings

[nggallery id=18]

So what’s been happening over the last month?  Well, I have performed weddings indoors and out, far and near.  One of my favorite weddings was the wedding of Chelsea and Joshua.  They are a young couple living here in Ballard that contacted me many, many months ago for their Bainbridge Island wedding.  They rented the Seabold Inn, which is an old schoolhouse built in the 1800’s with a huge yard out back.  Chelsea and Joshua chose wedding favors from Archie McPhee and a friend made their beautiful wedding cake which was decorated with fresh seasonal flowers.  The ceremony was held inside the schoolhouse and was quite charming with it’s mis-matched chairs and wooden floors.  Everything about this wedding was charming actually, but especially Chelsea and Joshua with their great big smiles!  The couple celebrated outdoors with a big picnic including lemonade and yummy food.  Tables were decorated with vintage tablecloths.

And how about Chelsea’s shoes?  Wow!  Fantastic!

Last Minute Proposal at Sculpture Park

Tyler proposing to Apryl at the start of the wedding ceremony at the Olympic Sculpture parkI recently had the pleasure of performing my first “sunrise wedding” for Tyler and Apryl.  They chose the Olympic Sculpture Park for their 5:30 a.m. nuptials.  So I set my alarm for 4:15 a.m. that morning and was up and ready to go by 5.  Unfortunately, there was cloud cover but it was still enchanting at the park that early in the morning with Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains as our background.  Due to the early hour, the park was empty except for our small group that met under the “Eagle” at the sculpture park, including parents and the couple’s young son.  But there was still a lot of excitement and anticipation in the air.  Probably the most surprising and exciting part of the ceremony was just before we began and Tyler got down on one knee and “officially” proposed to Apryl.  Everyone was surprised, especially the bride!  The photographer: Jonathan Steinberg of JMS Weddings caught this great picture just as Tyler proposed to Apryl.  So romantic!

Now Offering Free Skype Consultations!

I am happy to announce that you can now have a free consultation with me using video to video Skype! What this means for you is that if your sweetie is in the military and is deployed and you want him/her to be involved in the initial consultation, I can talk to both of you — assuming you have Skype 5.0 and a webcam. Or if one of you is in Seattle but the other is out of town and has access to Skype, we can all talk at the same time. Or if you both live out of state but want to have your nuptials in the beautiful state of Washington, we can chat live via Skype about your special day.

Just call me 206-406-7919 or e-mail me a good time to chat. I’ll confirm my availability and Voila! We’ll be able to meet “face to face”. My Skype link is available at the bottom of every page of my website.

I look forward to chatting soon!
